Does anyone know what it means?

    iexplore.exe application error

The instruction at “0x01c437d7” referenced memory at 0x00000499. “. The memory could not be “read”. Click OK to terminate the program.

Too much freezing going on  Haven't downloaded IE7 and am thinking of trying another browser. Firefox good? Any suggestions/cautions?

Firefox is ok, not a fan of it personally but you will find many people on here that are.

Firstly i'd suggest a couple of things to try and fix ie.

1: Uninstall all your toolbars, bhos that integrate into IE, this might include: Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar, MSN Toolbar, Stumbleupon, etc Often these sort of things cn be the cause of problems with IE.

2: uninstall and reinstall IE6, this can be achieved from Windows Components in Add Remove programs by unselecting Internet Explorer and applying and then reticking and applying it to install it again.

Actually, this only "Adds or removes access to Internet Explorer from the Start menu and Desktop.". :(

To the OP, what version of Windows are ye running, and what service pack level? I expect XP home, but we need to be sure. :)

    You could try:

    Dial-a-fix:

Run dial-a-fix, then click the "checkmark" icon, then press go. This may take a bit of time. Also, a date/time dialog box will appear. Just confirm your date/time, then press ok. :)

If this doesn't fix it, then you go go back into dial-a-fix, then click the "hammer" icon, "dial-a-fix: tools" should come up. Now, select (highlight) re-install/reapeir IE6, then select Go. Wait a bit of time, you will know when it is completed.

Any errors you receive, please report here. :)

    Thank you :)

Dial-a-fix appears to have done the trick! If I have a problem again, I'll do the hammer thing and then go from there.

    Thanks again :):)
