IE errors

    I keep getting IE errors, and it keeps making my computer reboot. I've been using IE more cause aol is annoying me. But when I use it errors will pop up saying there is a fault in module user.exe and I had a frext error (what is frext?) say the same thing. it's starting to get annoying cause I can't use my computer. aol hardly works, and IE is just showing errors.

    Sara ...is this the same computer that your Mom is supposed to take back to Circuit City? The laptop that keeps crashing, or a different one?

    no its the desktop that im using now.. the one she wants to take to circuit city is the laptop.

    I'll go to that thread... i keep thinking i have a virus cuz this comp keeps running really slow but i was told (not on here) that all my viruses were gone.

    Sorry for taking forever to reply.. I followed the steps I could, except (I know I sound stupid right now) I couldn't get into safe mode with networking, cause I dont know how to with windows 98. I've had this problem before & it took me forever to figure it out. I tapped f8 and didn't get that option, so how do i get to it?

    Also after I did the first steps, the regular scanning & fixing in safe mode and then put my comp back on in normal mode, I now have a little picture of a cloud and a sun on my desktop. It wasn't there before, but I remember having it there like 4 years ago. And if I'm correct, I remember my mom saying it was a virus...

    okay it couldn't update the definations but i let it scan anyway and it said no viruses found.

    no i didnt run it, I downloaded it just now, probem is I don't have anything to unzip it with. extract now wont work on my comp. so im going to i guess ask my mom if i can dl winzip...

    Windows 98SE has an Internet Explorer repair feature in System Information.

    Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information, then it's under the Tools menu.

    (I've never had great results with it, but it's worth a try)

    ok i just ran the IEfix. and i didnt know there was a way to repair IE... before I came here I 'tried' going to add/remove programs to repair it but it didn't give that option.

    IE is working yes. And no, *sighs* my mom hasnt taken it in yet.. she said on her next day off she will. She's been busy, sadly.
