Since a recent update of IE to version 6.1.33, after bootup and opening IE I've been getting the blue screen with the following message:

A fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:C0006E95 in VXD VMM(01) + 00005E95.

After a reboot it works fine. I'm thinking of just uninstalling the update. Any better ideas? Thanks in advance.

Since downloading and running CWShredder, which found a bad registry entry for IE, and running the IE repair option, the blue screen hasn't returned (yet). Fingers are crossed.

    Crossed fingers were no solution.

Sould have paid more attention to the info at the link which "highly volatile" supplied. I believe the last suggestion there was ' replace ram chips'. Had I known then what I know now.... $$$$$

I downloaded a quick tester that was no help before I tried the beta from MS available here:
    http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

I suggest you go right to the intensive test settings, avoiding the default tests. When I did I got consistent errors every test cycle.
A new stick of ram has solved this problem.

I'm sure someone knows of a reason why bsod error messages are so useless to the majority of us, but I don't want to hear it. Does Mac do its customers like this?
