IE Find Function

I tried to use the IE 6 Find function in Edit on the toolbar. This was the first time I have ever tried to use it. A popup box came up saying that

"Microsoft Internet Explorer had encountered a problem and needed to close."

Once IE started again I tried to use the find function again, with the same result. Tried it several times more with the same result.

Anyone know why this is happening and why I can't use the Find function?

 

There could be a multitude of reasons, malware / some combination of security fixes etc

Best thing to do is upgrade to IE7 if you can.

Or, even better, install any one of these. All of which are infinitely better than IE6.

you might have a secondary add on or toolbar with it's own "find" function that could be interfering with ie's.

 

I do have a Google Toolbar that has a find function. But when I try to use that I get the same result.

I do get an error code of 1000 in my Event Viewer. The attachment shows the properties.

I also got the same error code when I used the Find function on my IE.

For MutD, Can I use IE 7 with W2K?

 

does it show up in windows update?

 

NO it don't.

 

I didn't think so.

Back to my origanal problem, can anyone help me with that?
