ie freezes when try to close final browser window

wonder if anyone can help. when i try to close final browser window, it freezes. the only way i can get it closed is by ctrl,alt,delete...shutdown. then i get 'program is not responding'. also have been getting ie script error

I'm assuming you're running Windows XP. Run the system file checker. If you need info on how to run it, look here>http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=143668 Then maybe try running IEFix (link: http://www.majorgeeks.com/IEFix_d4467.html). You'll need your XP install CD for both of these. When running IEFix, you'll probably get a "file not found" error. Simply point it to the I386 folder on the CD.
