If you go to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and click on iexplore.exe does it open?

plodr's suggestion is a good one . . . additionally, I would contact the "repair" shop and ask them what's going on . . . I work at a repair shop and I personally test just about every app and program on the PC I was working on before I call the client and say "you're good to go". If Internet Explorer isn't working then the shop you went to needs to correct the issue. Many of my clients don't use IE anymore, but that doesn't mean that I don't need to test it for functionality; when a PC leaves my shop, EVERYTHING works whether the PCs owner uses the program(s) in question or not.

thank you so much, it is working fine now...........i really appreciate your help and this site..........i do have one more problem and i can't figure this out. For some reason when i first power up, i think you calling booting up, it is very, very slow. Much more slow than it was before i took it to the repair shop. the original problem you guys were helping with but it just crashed and nothing happened when i turned it on except it powering off. the repair shop fixed it, but it is now much slower at least to me. is there a way i can check to see if it is set at the correct setting or something?

thanks again for the help guys,

    jc

We'd have to know a) what the shop determined as the original problem and b) what the shop did to fix it.
At this point we have not got a clue if it is hardware, software or a combo of both.
