IE keeps closing

I was wondering if yo might be able to help me please, my IE keeps closing down, with error messages being sent to Microsoft. The message says "AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: mshtml.dll"

I have run Adaware, and then Googled. When I searched my Computer, it came up with

iexplore.exe.hdmp

and also

iexplore.exe.mdmp,

plus numerous other iexplore applications.

Now what? I would run Hijack this, but not confident I know what the heck I am doing. (don't laugh) *grins

I installed my own Toolbar through Effective Toolbars, and after I had run the AdAware thingy, this seems to be missing, bugger! lol

What now? What is an hdmp file and a mdmp file? It is spyware? A virus? I up date daily, and scan daily, both AVG Free Editon, and McAfee Virus Scan.
