IE need help, seriously. Please!

I was trying to figure which version i got to get updates manually cause win updater ain't working for me right now.

This was in IE

version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.050301-1526
update versions: SP1; and I got a bunch of other stuff

I am runing wind xp sp1 but noticed that Ie had xpsp2 in version and sp1 in update version so I am confused? I also tried to run the new update for sp1 with Ie version 6 sp1 and it ain't working, I think.

Help me please!!!!!

 

you have ie6 sp1, however you have an update for ie thats part of ie6 sp2. why haven't you updated to xp sp2 yet?

 

I just wanted to eventually do a clean install since i updated to xp sp1 from win 98 first edition. Also, heard you are better off with a clean install when going to sp2

By the way so is my system unstable due to putting an update for ie sp2 on a ie sp1 version.

 

No your system is not unstable, but you really need the service pack 2 for your XP and your IE. Run your virus scans before you download make sure all of the bugs are out first.
