IE not showing gifs

IE 6.0 has stopped displaying most of the gifs and pictures on all websites. FireFox works fine. IE works fine for another user on same pc. I set all IE options to defaults, cleared temp files for offline content. I also set the "encoding" to Auto Select - no change. Any other ideas other than recreating the user profile?

 

First, I would run CCleaner and then I would run the below.

If after you do the above it still doesn't work I would be sure I have the most recent version of IE which is Internet Explorer 7.05730.11.

I appreciate the responses, but I've already done all those things, except to upgrade to IE7, which I'll try next. Otherwise, I'll recreate the user's profile under XP and remove the old one.
BJGARRICK - thanks for tip on CCLEANER. I downloaded it and will try it out. I usually remove old temp files manually, and this will speed up the process.

 

Let us know if the problem isn't resolved, I would wait before removing the user accounts. We can try several different things before you do this but it's up to you.
