IE opens into 1" x 2" size first, WHY

I have an Acer Aspire5520-5147 with Windows Vista Home Premium on a lap top and lately for maybe a month now I have this annoying problem...

:-o I have to always maximize the IE windows from one inch x 2 inches. If I press the "internet button" on my laptop instead of clicking an icon, then it opens normally. My Avast has not cought a problem and neither did Ad-Aware. What's up with the itty bitty windows ?

And if that doesn't work, what has always worked for me, and I just tried this, successfully several times, maximize the window with the center "maximize" tab at the upper up right, then hold down the "CRTL" key, then go to "file" and "exit".

The next time you open IE, it should be maximized right off.

 

Is the IE icon on your desktop a genuine IE icon, or a shortcut to iexplore.exe? If it's a shortcut, right-click on it and select Properties; here you can select to always open it maximized.

it's called "Advanced System Care" I appreciate all the hits and will remember what you said to do should it come back !:wave
