    Hi all
I have a webmail service at work so people can access their email off campus. When you first go to the webmail site, usually IE will prompt you to download an activex type plugin. you know how that bar comes down from the address bar in your browser to download activex? well i cant seem to get that to come up on IE on my vista machine. its really annoying because i have people here insisting its my email server thats the problem. theyre stupid and i cant tell them that for obvious reasons.

anyone know wtf is blocking this from prompting for a download?? :(

works like a charm on FF, of course.

Signed activex? Check Internet Options through control panel, I would venture a guess it won't prompt to download an unsigned activex because it is disabled. Could also try running IE as Administrator, something I haven't tried, am running FF on W7 now, instead of IE8.

been through all of that. everything that would even remotely resemble an option that might have to do with it has either been enabled or set to prompt. tried running as admin and no go. its ridiculous. vista is hella weak dude because it prompts just fine with the default IE settings on a clean install of xp pro just fine. i dont get it.
