IE problem with new msgs in threads?

Browser: Internet Exporer. OS: Windows XP Pro.

The problem: I visit a certain Web site (www.cranfordtalk.com), and it used to work fine. Threads with new messages would say in boldface "20 messages, 3 new responses" (or something like that). Now it says just the total number of messages. I have to expand a topic in order to see if there new messages (old messages are blue; new are red). I'm not sure what (if any) Internet settings would account for this. I haven't changed any settings that I know of.

The guy who maintains the site said I'm the only one who's having this problem.

Hey, Halo,

Your screen shot is exactly what I see (though we've made opposite color choices for read and unread messages. Before you read the messages, did you see anything that said something like "20 messages, 2 new"?

If not, then the probably is not just mine. Thanks so much for taking the time to look into this!

My read ones are in Blue unread are in Red ( only expanded the red thread didnt read any )

and NO I didnt see anything like "20 messages, 2 new" all I saw was just as you see it in the screenshot, I didnt notice any options on that forum soft to change appearence like you can with VBulletin ( MG uses ) that Bravenet soft is pretty basic...and its the first time I had been their so had no opportunity to adjust anything.
