I keep having runtime errors popping up all the time. sometimes they say syntax errors, sometimes an object was expected, sometimes some hexidecimal thing, but it happens all the time. it keeps asking me if i want to debug and i don't know what that means, so of course i say no. is there any easy fix for this?

i have everything installed and have run everything trying to see if that might be whats going on. adaware comes up with cookies, spybot comes up with the same old stuff, avg never finds a virus, i have zone alarm installed. I noticed the problems started after i installed microsoft office basic edition 2003. i've since uninstalled it trying to get rid of the problem but it didn't. any other ideas?

I can't really tell from your description, but could this be a Java runtime problem??? Need to see more details of your errors... any screenshots?

i don't have any screenshots.. i just keep getting the same small window that pops with various types of runtime errors, and they ask if i want to debug. i've opened the debugger and its all geek to me. I don't know what ms office would have to do with it, but thats when it all started, almost immediately after. and it only happens with IE. the rest of my programs run fine. i looked to see if there was one of those repair options anywhere and i may have overlooked it if there is, but i didn't see one.

It's something stupid with versions of IE less than 5.5 (then again, all IE versions are stupid). I think the only ways of resolving this is to: disable javascript (and many graphical effects with sites), upgrade to IE6, or what I prefer, switch to Mozilla Firefox.

Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about.AFAIK, this is only for IE 5.5 and older, and I gave you some solutions to try out.

It's a javascript error on the page you're viewing, and IE for some dumb reason assumes that the might want to fix the error on the page, even though only the webmaster can actually fix the problem >_>

ok so it's nothing that i can actually do anything about.. and i'm running IE6, btw. i've never upgrade to sp2 but for some reason when i just checked the version it has some reference to it. odd.. i used to run opera, but i had so much trouble with pages not loading or loading all messed up i just went back to IE.

Give Firefox a try. It's already been downloaded by 55+ million users who got tired of IE.

Maybe you could try uninstalling Microsoft Java and running true Java instead?

uninstall Microsoft Virtual Machine... install Sun Java...

That may be of some help, just an idea...

It doesn't really fix the problem though, and you will still need Internet Explorer for Micro$$oft sites and programs. (tonglebeak)

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools menu, click Internet Options, then the Advanced tab.

Click to select the "Disable script debugging" check box.

Click to clear the "Display a notification about every script error" check box.

i was just having a lengthy discussion with sbc yahoo support about it. i have to run parental controls for my monsters and the parental controls offered by them doesn't work with mozilla. so now the conundrum, do i bail on the parental controls for a stable browser or stick with the crud i'm dealing with to have the lockdowns on the browser.. hmmmm..

did the disabling script debugging thing.. WORKED no popup when i went to a place that ALWAYS gives me one. :)
