    Hi all,

I'm new to this. Dont know much about computers. I am having problems with Internet Explorer, my home page appears in script and no picture loads. when i enter a website in the address bar nothing happens. I have Windows xp sp2 with IE 6 installed.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just click it & see what happens.

If you have to point it to the exe it should/could be here>

    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE

This is kinda off topic but one of the many things i've learned from using computers over the years is that when you do have any type of error on your computer is to search for it on google and see if what you find is helpful :) (of course this is only possible when Internet Explorer is working lol). If it isn't then you're definitely in the right place to get some help on your current issue ;).

Try this ....post back if the settings aren't different:
Tools menu --> Internet Options --> Security tab --> Custom level --> under "Scripting", disable "Active scripting"

So better you have a FF or OPERA as back up browser
just in case IE6 is getting crazy

VERY TRUE! :) I used to just use IE but now I use Firefox all the time (and set it as my default browser). Definitely more secure to use Opera or Firefox compared to using IE.
