I am using Firefox and not IE. Would I have any problems if I would take IE of off the start menu using msconfig?

    Thank You!

You won't find it in msconfig, as it does not start automatically at bootup. However go ahead and simply delete it from the Start menu if that's what you want, as it's only a shortcut to the program.

just right click and delete it from the start menu. lots of programs depend on IE for certain tasks so it is not recommended to remove it from your machine.

Personally, I wouldn't risk to remove Internet Explorer Browser due to possible instability issues. Besides, it's needed for Windows Security Updates because it uses Active X and Firefox doesn't have Active X.

You can remove the listing from Program files because it is only a shortcut. You can remove the icon from the desktop again because it is only a shortcut. You can remove the icon from the Quick Launch panel because it is only a shortcut.

I routinely remove all the shortcut icons so that users won't be able to run IE unless they really search for it. The only time IE fires up is when Windows or Microsoft Update is clicked in the Program listings at the top. I never remove those entries.
