IE Skins and spyware?

    I'm using XP SP2. I have wanted to download some skins and avatars (if you can download those) But I think that was whereI picked up some parasites and spyware last spring. I think I got them from Smiley Central. I could be wrong and apologize if I am, but wanted to have a safe site to download from if possible. Thanks cranky
