Hi,i read an article in pc magazine today stating "Bring up IE,select TOOLS--INTERNET OPTIONS--ADVANCED,under BROWSING is a list minor topics.UNCHECK:ENABLE INSTALL ON DEMAND(INTERNET EXPLORER). and also UNCHECK:ENABLE INSTALL ON DEMAND(OTHER).

Does unchecking these 2 really prevent spyware/adware from being installed from websites as claimed in the article?
    THANKS FOR ANY INFORMATION

No, but it does help... there are lots of other ways that those pesky programs can find their way onto your computer.
