IE will not connect

    I just removed a hijacker from my computer and now my IE will not connect. nic drivers are ok and everything is connected. network connection is connected and working. a little is being sent but nothing being received. IE will not detect proxy setting. I have always used auto detect in the setup process before. can anyone help??? :(
