I switched to Mozilla when I couldn't make this go away (been broke a while now). It works fine, I have internet access via Mozilla (using it now) and my email via Outlook works fine. But IE is broke.

If I load IE, it tries to go to my home page (google), then gets Cannot find server. I'm quite sure Google is up, obviously. I've deleted IE temp files, cleaned history, ran AdAware and Spybot, none fix it.

I only want IE because some websites require it. I tried finding this problem on this site (gave up after a while) and on Microsofts's site. I tried uninstalling it (no worky, it's so embedded into the OS, it won't let you. I tried reinstalling the SP1 but had no luck there either.

    Thanks in advance.

Make sure that your connection settings in IE are set to the connecton you need. Go into the LAN area and make sure that none of those boxes are checked if you don't need them. Make sure you don't have a firewall like ZoneAlarm blocking IE from Internet access.
