geordie, welcome to MG. This is a frequently occurring complaint here. Try this:

Click Start, Run, and type "regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll" (without the quotes, and use the space between e and u). Click OK. Reboot. Open IE and try a link.

If that doesn't do it, go back to the same place, but this time type "regsvr32.exe mshtml.dll" (with a single space between e and m). Click OK. Reboot. Open IE and try a link.

If it's STILL not working properly, check these links:

    MG link 1

    MG link 2

Seeings the symptoms and cure pop up often enough, but not having personally experienced it, makes me ask - what is causing the problem in the first place?

EDIT: What's causing it? I dunno. But Kodo will probably show up in just a second with the definitive answer to this troubling question. -- Wisewiz

Freddy, It typically has to do with some updates that are installed. Which ones I am not certain of.

Freddy, ma man, it was a good question. A really good question. We're sorry nobody here knows the answer. The cure we've got. The answer, no.

We weren't making fun of the question. Nosssirree. Nothing funny about the question.

We just get a little goofy around here sometimes because it's so depressing dealing with problems, problems, and more problems, day after day, year in, year out.

Freddy, nobody ever comes by here to say "Hey! My hardware's great, my software's terrific, my drivers are driving like crazy, and the whole box is humming at the speed of light." No. Not here. Here, they got nothing but problems, problems, and more problems. Makes a guy goofy sometimes.

Oh, and be patient with Kodo. He can't help it.
