IE7 Error - Help?

I did a search on here, and haven't found this error yet...But I have noticed it lately with my IE7. It's rather annoying and doesn't always happen. Seems to mostly happen on certain sites. (ie. local news, and then also weather.com, etc.) Is it a problem with my IE 7? A problem with Windows Vista Home Premium? (Btw, I have a Gateway laptop.) It doesn't happen in Firefox (which lately has been running slowly - despite the recent cleaning of my PC, and removal of malware with help from this forum. ) So, I was resorting to using IE7 for a bit. Anyone ever seen this error? What should I do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

You need to upgrade your version of Google Desktop so that you run the latest or - if you already run the latest - reinstall it. It's a Google software related error.

 

Oh! Thank you. I know I have google desktop as I discovered it when I was getting rid of the malware. I've never used it. Is it helpful? Necessary to keep on my laptop? If not, will this error disappear if I were to remove it from my PC? I don't believe I installed it... (Maybe it was on there when I got my PC?) Not purposely, anyway, as I don't know what it's used for...

I will have to do some googling and learn what it's for...

 

No, it is definitely not needed. It's a silly toy for gadgets and widgets that slows peoples computers down. It's not of much value when you don't use it. So deactivate it, uninstall and search for remains manually and delete left over folders, files etc.
