IE7 - No tabs?

In the screen shot below, you'll see I've highlighted the fact that there are no tabs in IE7. Ctrl+T does nothing. If I right click a link and select "Open in a new tab", the link opens in a new window. Any ideas?

 

Hello, dlb, I'll give this a shot, as I have IE 7 with tabs also.... Try this:

Open IE.
Click Tools > Internet Options
Click General Tab, look down about 2/3 way down for the TABS section, and click Settings.
make sure there is a check mark in the following:

ENABLE TABBED BROWSING at the very top
WARN ME WHEN CLOSING MULTIPLE TABS
ENABLE QUICKTABS (REQUUIRES A RE-START OF IE)
ALWAYS OPEN POP-UPS IN A NEW WINDOW
A NEW TAB IN THE CURRENT WINDOW

Click OK twice, and close IE.
Now, open it again, and you should have tabs...

another guess could be that one of the toolbars loaded might not work right with tabs (i see yahoo and google toolbars in the screenshot)

 

:-D Worked like a charm! I also removed the toolbars; the owner of the PC didn't even know what a toolbar was, and had been wondering where they came from and why his 'active' window for IE was getting smaller. roflmao LOL
