I installed IE 7 and when I open it it goes to http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx
That shows as a blank blue page. Other sites seem to work fine. However, I went to the windowsupdate site and that was just a blank page too. Also, it loads that page (http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx) whenever I load IE even though its not my homepage.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, did the same thing.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

just a thought... did you check if you'r default homepage had changed? go to control panel/ network and internet connections/ then internet options and see what you'r homepage is set to. if it has changed simply change it back to the page you want.

I did change it. The problem is I never did whatever had to be done on the runonce page, so it keeps coming up, but since it doesn't load, I can't see it.

    Sorry, I'll explain
That isn't my default homepage. My default homepage is google.
The runonce page just comes up, not my homepage

This appears to be a 'feature' of Micro$oft IE7.

I assume you are running XP, if so, you can solve this issue using GPEDIT.MSC which you access through Start>Run.

There is a great tutorial written up - which I was put on to in MG - that walks you through the fix.

    Thanks, but it didnt work
when I type in gpedit.msc to run, it gives me an error

then I saw one of the comments
    but when I went to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
the "the "RunOnceHasShown" on the right" isn't there
    maybe thats the problem?
