WinXP SP3 - this laptop was running SP2 and IE6 and I updated to SP3 and IE8. The internet connectivity wasn't working with IE6, so I fixed that after installing IE8. I don't know if IE6 had the same problem that I'm experiencing now: every web site I go to has a plain white background everywhere. Most/all pictures and images seem to appear OK, and I can surf nice and fast, but the white background is annoying. I checked the color settings in IE8 options and they're OK (set to "Use Windows colors"), and I used both the "Restore advanced settings" and the "Reset..." buttons under the "Advanced" tab and no changes.

I attached a screenshot showing part of the MajorGeeks home page just to illustrate exactly what I'm talking about.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to get IE8 back to normal will be appreciated.
