There is no intranet in this house. Nevertheless IE8 blocks it when I write a destination directly in the URL box an hit enter. A yellow bar appears and says that intranet is disabled as a standard in IE8. I never used this PC as a server. I read somewhere that you could transform an ordinary PC into that. I also don't intent to use my PC in that way. Is there some program that I should uninstall? Or some settings that should be changed in Tools -> Internet -> Security -> Intranet?

It worries me that IE8 identifies an intranet. What intranet? I'm the only user here. I own this PC as well as the internet connection. And no one else but me and this PC is on this dsl line. I use Google as a standard for searching.

There's an error in the headline. Spelling. Sorry.
