    Hi

Just need to clarify your title of post where you mention Ie8, is it the browser data you want to move as in Favorites and if so easy way is to copy the Favorites folder to USB pen or upload to something like Skydrive and copy to the Favorites folder in Windows 8 (Skydrive is built into Windows 8 so if you login to Windows 8 using an email login then the Skydrive account is mirrored on your PC, fantastic way to store files for use on multiple PCs and locations)

Vista and Windows 8 favorites folder are located in same place C:\Users\yourusername\Favorites

If its other data, then what data do you wish to move as if its applications such as Microsoft Office, Security software or any installed applications, then sadly no you cannot move them, they need to be re-installed on the new PC (if the version is compatible with Win8).

If its data ( as in pictures, documents, music) you wish to move then, not a problem, easy option is to copy the files to USB or Skydrive and then copy to your new PC, in appropriate folders.
