I constantly have to deal with IE8 'encountering a problem' and having to shut down... then i gotta send/not send a report to nowhere that does nothing. then i gotta decide whether to go to the last session or to my home page when it 'recovers' from it's little problem. what a pain. can anyone help make it stop?

You can uninstell IE8 and it will automatically revert to IE7.

But I have found most of the time people are having problems with this is because of all the add-ons and "accelerators". Go to tools, manage add-ons, and highlight and disable everything, except Java.

Then go to accelerators and turn those off.

Alternatively, you might find Internet Explorer, no add-ons, in your programs but that doesn't seem to be universal.

Whenever I have taken the above action, IE8 works fine.

Best luck and Happy New Year!
