IE8 Problems - XP

Wondered if someone could help me.

Im having huge problems with IE8.. Basically a few weeks ago it kept crashing, I always run Malywarebytes and Super Anti Spyware along with Avast and no problems found. I fixed the crashing issue by resetting all the advanced setting back to default. Oh always run ccleaner once IE is closed.

Anyhow since then it seemed slower when first opening and also when opening new windows. Then at times ive been unable to type in form fields (not all). Having problems typing here so this is a cut and paste job. I say cant type but what I mean is, im typing but only half the letters are entered so have to enter letters a few times before they appear on screen. I have googled and found a few things the main being uninstalling IE8 and reinstalling. That does seem to have helped but it still isn't 100%.. Still slow and still the typing issue. Have also tried reregeristing some dlls but that's made no difference.

Problem is only related to IE, Firefox is ok. But if I have both browsers open at the same time then Firefox hangs untill IE is closed

Ive also disabled all add-ons and reinstalled Flash but again still have the problem. Ive googled many times but now at a loss for what to try next

Anyone have any ideas..

Tried tweeaking.com after finding another recent post on here, but sadly not made any difference although it may have helped with the seed issue but difficult to say. Thks for the suggested sites but nothing there to help. If I was togo to the hassle reinstalling XP then id do a clean install. However I very much doubt XP is at fault other browsers are ok its just IE8.

Had problems logging back in here as again I couldn't type !!!

Could it be a Java issue ? I have uninstalled and reinstalled but is it possible that this is causing the prob.. im saying that as I can type in hotmail fine but as above I cant type correctly in any form field on this site.

 

Try complete Internet Repair. Only select IE8 in the list and click Go
