    I stupidly upgraded to IE8
Now I have google question bar in my browser and have seemingly lost the LINKS tab, which is different from the FAVORITES as when you go to add a URL to favorites, you can put it underLINKS and then easily access your links(same as favorites) but it's a small number so it's faster to find what yuo want.
    How can I
get ride of the google search bard
    -get my LINKS tab back
    or just downgradeto IE7 again?
I wish I have more time to do some learning,I will have more time next week
    thanks

What operating system are you using?
IE8 is still beta as you probably know and unless your into testing software installing beta software isn't a good idea.
Now I have never looked at IE8 but with regards to downgrading is a system restore an option for you? if not follow the below

In add and remove programs there should be a listing for:

Uninstalling Internet Explorer 8 in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003
•From the Start menu, open Control Panel and click Add or Remove Programs
•Click Windows Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 and then click Remove.
•Your computer will be reverted to Internet Explorer 6 + previous IE6 security updates or Internet Explorer 7 + previous IE7 security updates depending on what you had before the upgrade.

Uninstalling Internet Explorer 8 in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008
•From the Start menu, open Control Panel and click Programs
•Click Programs and Features and click View Installed Updates (located in the left side menu
•Select Windows Internet Explorer 8 and Uninstall
•Your machine will be reverted to IE7 + previous IE7 security updates
•You can confirm that by clicking Help, then clicking About Internet Explorer next time you launch Internet Explorer.
•Be sure to check for any new security updates.

    More info

Glad to hear it mostly went smoothly for you...now with regards to the google toolbar, can it not be removed by going to Tools > Toolbars? Is there an entry for it in Add and Remove programs?

    no it cannot be
IE7 deems the google tobe one of search providers, it isnext to the addresss bar and just useless to me, if I need to search I pull a tab and go to a search page...
I did not see thisgoogle or search bar in add/remove or via search my computer
before I make another thread, sometime in the past I removed word 97 or 03, but I used my mircosoft 07 disk to restore word
I dont like word 07,is there a way to get to the older version of word?

    Hi

That search box if like this one is not a toolbar from google but the default inbuilt search box thats now in IE.

You can add other search providers and does make a good addition if you add the likes of Wikipedia or Amazon to the list, allows searching one of them easier.

If you wish to remove this search box then here is info on that

As for Office and installing an older version then you will need those Office disks as in either Office 97 or 2003 to allow you to install the older office word.

    ALRIGHT!
THanks a ton, details are so important,
I'll have to look for the 03 disk later
Ok I also spend time on a different(non-computer)forum
and they are Vbullieitn as I think this is also,
but they have the newer posts at the bottom, not at the top
so to read over there, you start at the top and scroll down reading
over here I have to start from the bottom and scroll up
both DISPLAY MODES(top right corner) are on Linear Mode
    so why the difference?

also, since yuo seem smart,(smarter than me) I am on a lap top and the touchpad is off, and yet sometimes, the pad will still repond and move my cursor when I brush against it or the scroll pad next to the touchpad will move my screen up or down( the pad light is off, indicating it is off)
I run CCcleaner a 4x+ a day, can you provide any help?

    Hi

As for Vbulletin the forum software can be setup in many ways and many viewing options, you can set your own layout, so if you wish the newest post first then go into your User CP ( forum software at top left side of menu ) and then click Edit Options and under thread Display Mode choose from the dropdown Linear Newest First then save.

for Touchpad, look on your laptop makers support site for a newer touchpad driver and see if that resolves this.
