Ie9?

is IE9 still in some sort of "beta" stage? i've had several ppl tell me my IE is out of date, but windows updates has never pushed IE9 on me, AFAICR.

in the past, even the betas showed up as "optional" updates, i think. is there some "issue" with IE9, such that they're just letting it pass quietly on the way to 10 or something?

 

Which OS? - it came down on auto update on all the Vista/Win 7 machines here, but hasn't done so on any XP machine.

 

I have Internet Explorer 9 installed on my machine, and it runs without a hitch. Not that I use it much... I'm still using Firefox 3.5.19, as FF4 doesn't support an addon I really like (yet). FF3 has been crashing on me intermittently, likely because there's issues with web-based updated things that FF3 is no longer compatible with (I've mostly noticed the crashes after updating my Adobe Flash). It crashes a few times a day, and I use it a lot... so no issue for me.

Back to the original question, IE9 is not beta, it's a full release version. I believe it was an unchecked update in Important Updates in Windows Update (I had to check it to download and install it). Not the easiest to notice, as it doesn't fall into the Optional Updates category.

oh, wait a minute, now that u mention it, wasn't there some issue that it wouldn't even RUN on XP?

i use FF when i can, but i have lots of probs with that. IE still the lesser of 2 evils.

 

What problems do you experience with Firefox? Maybe we could help you remedy them, and you'd end up happier in the end.

 

i'll get into that another time, in another thread. for now, let's just stick to IE9.

rly a nogo on XP? were u (mcsmc) also talking abt vista/win7, same as earthling?
