Sometimes, I turn my pc off , windows XP, and hit turn off, instead of shutting down, I will come back to it later and will see that it has an error message, has not shut down or left windows, and says IEXPLORE.EXE cannot shut down. End Program Now? Yes/NO. So I hit yes, and the machine turns off. Why isn't explorer closing?

do you have all the relevant updates?
Does this happen when you have IE open and shutdown?

Have you scanned fully with Ad-Aware/Spybot etc?

    Search your registry for WaitToKillAppTimeout
    Default value should be 20000

    I have windows xp.

I can find the registry editor and bring up Waittokillapptimeout.

I can click on the "name" of this data wich is "000"

    It says. Value name: 000

    Value Data: Waittokillapptimeout.

I am not sure what to do. I cannot change the value name 000, it won't let me.

I am also having problems, where
CiceroUIWndframe is doing the same thing

    WaitToKillAppTimeout is the Value name.

Change the Value data to 20000, click OK, exit the Registry editor.
