    Hi All,

I'm new to all this and at my wit's end and in need of help. I have spent the better part of today trying to fix this problem.

I bought a digital camera yesterday (Nikon Cool Pix 2100) and installed NikonView to be able to view/download pics from the camera onto my computer. Since installing that program, it appears to be screwing up my internet - although it could just be coincidence.

I have a PC that runs on Windows 98SE and Internet Explorer 5.5.

When I go to start up internet, an error window pops up --

'Microsoft Internet Exploreer has encourtered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'

If I unclick 'restart microsoft explorer' option and then hit ‘don’t send error report’ I'll get another window that pops up that reads --

‘Iexpolore – This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.'

If I hit 'details' on this window, I get this ---

IEXPLORE caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:490eb62c.

Bottom line is that if I do the above steps, I can eventually connect to the internet, but it's a slow process and I have difficulty opening more than 1 window or being able to follow links on webpages.

Have you got all the latest updates for internet explorer and Windows

What Anti -Virus are you using and is it up to date

Just a few of the basics but best get them out of the way first :)

Not 100% sure but that sounds like a nasty to me.

Billy G usually doesn't apologize like that ;)
