If You Could Change One Aspect Of Human Nature, What Would It Be?

If I could alter one fundamental aspect of human nature, I would amplify empathy. Imagine a world where we all truly understood and felt each other’s joys, sorrows, and struggles. Empathy would guide our actions, leading to greater compassion, cooperation, and understanding. It would bridge divides, heal wounds, and remind us that we are all interconnected.

10/10 we'd find a way to mess that up. Probably on hour 2, but man, in an "ideal scenario" i'd like to see what that looked like.

I like that. The logic part.

I have the same problem with Empathy, personally, but if everyone else had that problem they would suffer like I do.

Do you think it's possible to do both?

 

Many people today lack sympathy, but there's a line you can draw. Cancel out the bad ones. Keep that one important friend, and ditch the useless sods.

 

Avarice.

 

How would you change it? I know people who are pro and con

 

Increase common sense until religion completely disappears.

 

Greed isn't good, and avarice is worse. Avarice built Versailles while the people starved. Avarice built the Dutch East India company while thousand upon thousands of indigenous people were slaved out, maimed, or killed. Avarice led Texaco to poison the Amazon, introduce cancer and disease to indigenous peoples, and put the lawyer that beat them in jail. Avarice drove industry shills to claim there was nothing wrong with spewing tetraethyl lead out of every tailpipe on the planet. There are no "pros" to such a glaring negative human behavior.

 

For everyone to know the difference between beliefs and facts and know that emotions do not drive or change facts. What is true is true regardless of what you believe and how you feel. It may be my autistic brain but I will never not be shocked at the amount of people, including highly intelligent people who cannot understand this.

 

I like this one. I'm a big fan of "change your mind when introduced to new information" and not everybody is or is capable of doing so.
