I just found this and it is a bit of a worry as I have a new Galaxy S8 :(

Just a warning to go into phone settings and deny messaging access to storage so it can't access your photos.
Currently Samsung Galaxy from S7 to current and Samsung Edge phones are affected and no fix is available as yet

I posted in The Lounge because it will probably be read by more people ;)

If there was no logical reason for a app to be requesting access to something then don't allow it. I share pictures off my phone with friends using Massaging and I don't think that will work if I deny access.:(

Reasons why I don't personal stuff on my phone.

There is an app that allows you look into each app's settings be hind the scene.

Google hates this app. It's called lucky patcher.you will not find it on Google play store.

You don't need an app to check on and turn off permissions.

Settings then Applications. Open the app you want to look at and it shows you exactly what permissions are on or off. (It a slider so you can slide it on or off).

This is the very reason why I stopped buying Samsung phones after owning a Core 2 a few years back. Right now, I have an iPhone 6plus - disappointed with the camera. It's blurry now. I also have a Huawei Nova 2 Lite. It's amazing. If I have the cash, will buy P20. Heard great things about it.

I paid 75 dollars for an LG phone at walmart and it runs great. It's the LGL158VL it comes with android 7.0 and 16 gigs of space. With extra storage added another 16 gigs of space so i have 32 gigs of space. It has the option to Tether other devices to it.There are a lot of phones that cannot do this option.

I have an $80 Samsung from BestBuy. It runs well, has 64GB of extra storage and a replaceable battery. I would not hesitate to buy the buget line of Samsung phones.

By the way, I checked and messaging doesn't have access to my storage.

I get a weekly android newsletter and try to keep up with changes, settings, good apps, etc.

Okay, so, to commend Samsung... the two old Samsung units I bought like 5-6 years ago, it's still alive. Sometimes my nieces borrow it. 37904312_10156563708898928_4823885260007669760_n.jpg

Reminds me of the old Nokia phones.....I went through several Motorola flip phones and Siemens phones that were deemed unfixable and because they were dropped were not covered by warranty. When I got a Nokia 3310 it seemed like it was almost indestructible as it was dropped numerous times without any apparent damage. The battery life of two or three days was good too.....when it was out of contract it was replaced with, IIRC, a Nokia 6100 which was also good but not as good battery life.
After the Nokias my employer switched to Blackberry phones and the early ones without the slide screen were better than the later ones as the slide screen used to have problems with the cable inside.
