If youre a gamer read this!!!!!!!!!!!

All i had tons of questions even tho i know a shit load about computers im not a geek but a hardcore gamer.But the lack of options r running thin with bf screwing up with patches ea release.But! ea got kicked and dice will handle the patches!So theres a little hope for dx9 games.Whats the point like i said runnign thin on games.U had bf2,bf2142,css,dods for online that i loved for fps.but the bf series dropped with bad bugs from patches,css ever since i saw the hitboxes on google it was never the same and dods was good but not good as the bf1942.This is what i read over the last month on what to get for the new next gen of gaming.I have a feeling games will finally be the way i wanted them to be in dx10.



Monitor:If u can get a LCD DIV connector monitor with atleast 19in and under 8ms of response time!I bought a 21 inch proview vga and i never really knew bout div,now i knew something was with my 21 inch.THe monitor is amazing but with vga its copying the image and trying to emulate it.Like in alot of my games i had the best hardware and was getting angry cuz i so see clean lines like the image was catching up.I met alot of ppl saying div is the main connectors and ull never have a problem with it.


Video cards:As many of u gamers heard about crysis!the makers of fary cry making a far cry2 also!I just bought a 7900 for 189 bucks just to get me by until real dirct x10 cards come out and u have a wide range of cards to pick from.Take my advice if u dont have the money to blow and the games that r gonna be dx10 doesnt come out till like 4-6 months just hold out till the cheaper ones come.Ive been watching a trend ever since dec1 the 8800 gt and gtx r slipping in prices.Whats happening are they re doing mail in rebates then it ll be instant+mail in rebates.If u have the cash to burn get the 8800 gts or gtx it plays dx9 beautifully!


processor:I was kinda misled on the new intel duo cores! ...like i said i always read up on things.Turns out that the duo cores are the fastest processors u can get.In this mag i was reading they built a nice pc for 1500! the guy bought a e6300 and overclocked it with the stock fan to 3.0 ghz.And when i said i was misled i read that same kinda passage before i bought the e6400 thinking i can madly overclock! turns out the board u need to do this is a 680i evage motheboard.Right now with xp u cant used dual cores,but one of those single cores runs faster then a 5000 + and a 4800x2.Nothing is really designed for multi tasking until vista comes out and i cant wait to see how fast thing can be with its true nature of its designs.


motherboard:if ur gonna go next gen u have to get a 680i motheboard i have many reasony to do this.Remember like 3 years ago?pci e was so new agp still killed it and all of the sudden boom agp is dead.then u had sli! the best thing to hook up two cards together!what turned out back then was that ur sli was 8x and 8x so u never had full speed on the second gpu of the card.Now with the new 680i u get 3 pci e 16x.HD sound cards r gonna be on that 3rd slot i can tell.But now u can take 2 cards and sli them and get 100 percent on both of em at 32x.Before sli was designed for say like u have a 6600 and u got left behind u could take another and sli and kinda catch up.Now if i wanted to i could take my 7900 and go faster than the 8800 but no directx10.I just cant imagine how fast two 8800 would be omg!


ram: u have kingston,corsair,geil,ocz,cruical theses the big boys!ocz and cruical tech r the fastest ram in the industry.WHere u have corsair with xms and geil designed for gaming.so if u need ram for gaming get either geil or corsair xms ddr2 800! ull scream.


dvd burners: 18x-20x r out now and omg theyre r quick and cheap too! if u go to compusa and a local shop ur gonna spend so much more.I bought a 18x samsung dvd burner.I can take a dvd cuz i like to make a copy just incase someone steals and burn it.With my 16x it took between 30-40 to shrink then 3 mins to burn the iso i made.Now with the 18x dvd i can take a movie shrink and burn it all together in 6 mins.


pc cases: u want a good pc case for the long 11 inch cards? u need a full tower nuff said!


Powersupplies:i always got left in the dust haha with these,i couldnt wiat to get a 500 watt and its already outdated.so what i did was bought a 1000 watt psu for 269.and u know y cuz most 850 watts and 700 watts range in that price and bfg is a good company.My friend owns a shop and either way from nvidia,to cool master or enermax theyre all amazing.The only thing u have to worry bout is the psu that comes with the case.But u need atleast a 650-750 watt for the new cards.


hard drives:this is what made me want to write this article to help u guys out.my info isnt fake i read this in the pc hardware mag! im glad i dide cuz iwas gonna buy a nice 500 gb 7200 rpm 16 cache.and im like well im gonna get a 10,000 rpm then u know to get better stuff for gaming.It turns out 10,000 rpm doesnt do anything but load levels alittle faster so dont waste money on it if u think itll boost fps.



CPU cooler:I wish i wrote this on the top but get a zalman 9700 cooler for 50 bucks cuz on newegg its a instant 20 bucks saving.u can idle at 12 c,and get artic silver for ur paste itll dropped it 5 more c

After sorting through the IMing language garble, I'm assuming this is supposed to be some sort of advice post? I hope you didn't reproduce what they wrote in the mag and put an unintelligible twist to it.

Monitor: DVI, not DIV (from what I recollect, anyway). Under 8ms is for people who can notice a great difference between that and 8ms and want to brag about it...IMO.

Video cards: Of course prices are going down. They certainly won't go up with new cards being developed. I'll wait until either the physical size is shorter or when DX10 is mainstream, which will most likely be after the first wave of DX10 games are released (I can live without the extra eye candy for a bit).

Processor: Indeed, Core 2 Duos are the fastest according to most benchmarks. Multi-tasking has always been done, it's just that some processors are better at it than others. Software in XP can use dual core. Nothing's taking full advantage of both cores yet, if that's what you mean.

Motherboard: If you're going to go next-gen, wait until more motherboards come out to choose from so you have more variety instead of being forced to choose one. The 680i isn't the only motherboard that can perform full x16/x16, either.

RAM: I'm already screaming trying to read what you wrote. There's RAM faster than 800MHz now, too. OMG!

DVD Burners: Um....ok.

PC Cases: Thank you, Captain Obvious.

Power Supplies: Case PSUs almost always need upgrading, especially on gaming rigs. The "new cards" that will most likely be the budget 8 series cards (8300, 8500, whatever), probably won't need that big of a power supply. For future reference, new won't always mean higher requirements. For the 8800s, yes, but hopefully they'll improve on efficiency.

Hard drives: Yeah, because, you know, it's from a mag, it MUST be true!! Yeah, more RPMs basically makes reading/writing faster, which doesn't affect gaming that much (from what I understand, anyway).

CPU Cooler: Yay Zalman! Liquid cooling is quite nice, too, such as Coolermaster's.

Summary: Don't upgrade/buy just to have the best of the best. If you've done the research, compared to other hardware, and realized you won't notice much of a difference (or don't care), save tons and get what you think you'll really take advantage of, not what you want to brag about.

its different when i type, im not good at typing but better in pen! plus i was born deaf too. I didnt get my hearing till i was 8 so language arts was always kinda hard for me.But I mastered in math,history,sci tho!And I was in a hurry,sometimes when im in a hurry i think what im typing and skip words.

who the heck really needs a 1000 WATT PSU?? Most 500 watt (dual rail) will do ..good enough for dual pci e NVidea SLi cards...WOW 1000?

yeah someone told me the card needed plike 450 for itself or some crap like :/ guess that person was wrong.Right now im fishy about listening to advice saying duos r junk,680i boards are having problems and u cant have more than 4 gbs.Now im glad to know that u dont need a 700-1000 watt to run this game!

god u know i love battlefield! i just love the way is meant to be and the way it was. .EA seriously ruined that game,u know?I went to play 1.01 just for the heck of it and man that was the good ole days.Where u could jump and prone and jump,where u could throw c4,not have claymores everywhere.Im hoping quake wars will end bf for me cuz i have no clue why i try to play that game.I know my problem is my ram where i dont have enough to run it right,and im stucking thinking do i really wanna spend 300 more for 2 gbs.Battlefield2 and 2142 made it rare where ur not stuck like counter strike and dod in a closed area.What game did u go to online jazagod? i tried wow but its not the same,i just cant get into it like a fps.

 

straight up, Starwars Battlefront 2. more like BF vietnam in gameplay, sweet grfx with no big load. 512 ram is more than enough ram to play, and i believe a 64 vid card will do to. Flying all them ships is the cats bottom too..more than 22 levels and more modded levs too, good game... Free FEAR is lotsa fun too, though a little heavy on the specs.
Battlefield is a great game, im so sorry bf2 was as bad as it is.my oppinion of course.
I just got guild wars...I hope its not dissapointing
