then, by all means, don't even CONSIDER 'tiger direct'.

I just bought a Radeon X1650 video card from them. What a mistake.

I dropped it into my second machine, fired up, nothing. No video at all. I pulled it out and guess what I found?

Full of dirt. The fan channel was filled with crap. The fan itself had dirt caked on the blades.

This is what they sell now. Junk.

Go elsewhere geeks. You'll be happier.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience, but I think you just got unlucky. I order from Tiger Direct all the time and I have yet to have a problem. Good prices on many components, available and trained customer service, quality products and lightening fast shipping (Most things are here 2 days after they're shipped). Call Tiger up and explain your problem. I hope you get it worked out.

You had to plug it in,try it, pull it back out to find out that it was dirty? If the fan blades were that crudded up, I believe I would have noticed it before even plugging it in.

Ditto, was it an open box? I like Tiger for peripherals but not components as I can usually find better prices for parts than TD up here. Jeez, I always savour the sight of a new Video card looking all over it before I install it. I like high tech.:)

What WAS I thinking? Trying to share an experience.

    I'll know better next time.

Just out of curiousity, are you the same jdeatsch(not that I expect an honest answer) that is on the NPB list at geewhiz, com site trying to get confirmation on something?

"Share an experience"? Lets call this what it is and thats a whining post that you felt compelled to make in order to vent.

You had a bad experience it happens get over it. Of course since you had something arrive in poor condition that must mean that everything that ever gets ordered from tigerdirect is "junk". Seriously tigerdirect is a hugely popular site with the vast majority of people who order from there completely satisfied. Exactly how you thought this was somehow doing us a favor is beyond me I dont need you to tell me that stuff bought online doesnt always arrive in perfect condition. Hopefully next time you will know better and be less emotional and more rational.

Does RMA ring a bell? I had a bad video card from TD and I called them up. They took care of it for me with no issues. Got a bad MB from NewEgg too and once again no problem.
