I just reformatted my laptop and now whenever I play FFXI, I'm getting a BSOD error message (sometimes immediately after logging on, sometimes as long as two hours into play):

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
The problem seems to be caused by the following file: igxpdx32.dll
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    Technical information:
    *** Stop: 0x00000050 (0xE297F104, 0X00000000, 0XBF385265, 0X00000001)
    *** IGXPDX32.DLL - Address BF385265 Base at BF1D800, Datestamp 00000000

I'm also getting a double listing under Display Adapters in Device Manager...thought the two might be connected:

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Graphics driver and immediately get the double listing again. I've also made sure to update DirectX.

    Here's my specs:

    Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop
    Windows XP Home
    Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset

    Ideas anyone??

Maybe I can help you :),a had the same problem with that file when i played some games, and now it is working, and BSOD its gone. But I have an older chipset from Intel (915). I installed an older version of driver for that chipset, and there is not that file (igxpdx32.dll ) and now its working without any problems.

Thank you so much Kubko2007, that was a great idea! I ended up ordering the "Drivers and Utilities" CD from Dell, which contained an older version of my Video Driver (without igxpdx32.dll). After I reformatted, I used this driver (instead of the newer version available on the Intel site) and...:-DNO PROBLEMS:-D...ok, so far, but I have high aspirations!

    Thanks again!

Apologies for the delay, john29, I've been out of state...

I will be happy to get the information on the old driver for you, but I won't be able to get to the CD until tomorrow...

    I'll post it then!

I also have the same problem as these guys and after alot of searching I think its the driver that i may need to use a version that works with ffxi , without bsod about the igxpdx32.dll. But I have dual 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family, not the dual 945 like the other guy did. Do you guys have any advice on wht driver version i need to get it to work with ffxi? like i said i am getting bsod mentioning igxpdx32.dll. if i could get any help about how to get the righ tdriver i owuld appreciate it, intel site didnt have much to choose from.

actually i have solved this problem thanks to all the help in the forums. i have downloaded n intel 915 6.14.10.4704, to replace my current driver version. i had to find it from places other than intel site, and i had to put it into the system32 folder. then after uninstallingthe current driver i could install the older one and it works fine with the game i was running. where before i was geting the bsod mentioning igxpdx32.dll.
thanks everyone for your help on this topic

    REALLY sorry about the delay...the 2nd delay:eek:...

I've uploaded the chipset driver for Intel 945GM. This is an older version of the driver and doesn't have the dreaded igxpdx32.dll file. If you uninstall your old (newer) driver and install this one, it will hopefully get rid of the problem...at least, it did for me.

First, restart in Safe mode and uninstall your old chipset driver. Then, restart into Normal mode. Instead of following the prompts to install a new driver, unzip the file from this post, then click on Setup.exe. That should get you on your way.

One other option is to go online to Dell and request the Drivers and Utilities CD. This will have the older version of the driver and no igxpdx32.dll file, as well.

Just make sure that once you've installed this older driver, you don't update it!

Best of luck...Let me know if this file works for you and if there's anything more I can do to help!:)

The problem that everyone is having is in the igxpdx32.dll itself . When intel wrote the new driver it has a glich in the driver it's self . There nothing wrong with your hardware or anything dealing with the bios like I said it is the driver it's self any driver writtin from 2007 to now . The best driver to use for the Dell in which has the 945GM chipset I have . Just drop me a line at the_werewolf_1973@yahoo.com and I will send it to you . It has took me awhile to find this driver and it works flawlessly and trust me I should know 9dragon player here :) . But like I said drop me a line and I'll send it right to ya ...ttyl:wave
