Illegal operation

    When I start up my computer I get an illegal operation message. I have run all the spyware fixes to no avail.

    The details to this message are this:
    EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
    module <unknown> at 0000:10001200.

    clean log.

    does it crash in safe mode?

    Yes it does. I cleaned the log out earlier but to no avail. Kinda stumped at the moment.

    you may want to run the SFC on it. or see if you can get an explorer.exe from another computer that is running the same version and patch level.

    Also tried that no luck!!!.....I guess I will have to reformat. I really don't care it isn't my PC but the dial up settings and all the drivers and things are just a pain in the ass to put back on. One other thing that may help, When the error comes up I can just drag it to the bottom of the screen and work as normal. If you close it though it will come right back up when you click on something. If you get any other ideas before tomorrow let me know. Thanks for the help!

    oops.. sorry bout that. Losing track. There's so many threads.. AHHHHH!! :p *shakes it off*

    My next thought is RAM.. Test the RAM in the machine.

    Nope no luck with the RAM either......what a pain in the ass!!!!!!

    did you scan the HDD for errors?

    you have alexa on your machine.. remove the alexa toolbar , run adaware and remove these lines from HJT

    I must have just got that ......I didn't think they looked right....We'll at least get that off then I will post another log.

    yeah, but it probably will have nothing to do with explorer crashing.

    The only other thing I can suggest, it update all your drivers.

    I will try that.....Even when I ran hijack this ....this time after i saved the log it popped up saying hijack this performed an illegal operation....

    this is starting to sound like RAM.. have you tried testing one module at a time?

    I just used the Microsoft Memory checker and everything turned out fine. What a piece of junk!!!!

    Tried that also.....no errors!!

    Ok I am sick of it I am just going to have to save all this guys crap and reformat and hope it fixes it. thanks for all the ideas

    sorry man, Explorer crashes are a bitch to find a resolution to sometimes.
    If you get installation errors, then it's hardware..
