Yeah I KNOW I should have a legit copy of WinXP, but I don;t....
And I'm not sure it's OK to post my question here.. but here goes......

I am trying to install Trend Micro Internet Security 2006 (legit disc) and it says that my OS is not supported..........

Sooooooooooooo I am assuming this is because of my bodgey version of XP??????

    Or is there another reason????

Do you have SP2 installed Wandaful?

As you know not having a legit version does in part limit you on some software installing, I hope you didnt pruchase Trend? but having said that you may have been able to install one of the fee AVs we list on MGs in Avast or AVG which do similar if not better job as the paid for apps.. also we have the other apps in firewall and Antispyware free also.... I wont pay for apps if free ones which do just as good as job are available freely.

Not going to leature on the values of going legit as that is for you to evaluate, but I wouldnt want you to go un protected either..... at end of day its well worth going legit with your OS and Toni supplied some links to buying the OS as cheap as possible.
