I'm fed up...HELP ME PLEASE!!!

I have gone through and done everything that everyone has told me to do to fix my system after we got infected with spyware, but it keeps on getting worse. I want to completely restore and wipe the whole thing clean so I can reinstall windows xp. I don't know what all I need to do to accomplish this. I have gone through and burned a bunch of files to CD that I want to save. What's next?

Before you do the clean install, make sure you have "everything" you want.

All your passwords and logins, your e-mails, documents, links, etc.

It never fails, everytime I have done one, there is always something little that I forget to backup.......you forget everything you have until you need it.

The only things left that I can think of are my inbox and my favorites list for the links that I can't remember. I'm not sure how to back those up.

your Favorites is an easy one to backup.. navigate to this location C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxx\Favorites ( where xxxx is your user name ) and save the favorites folder to your backup location... then when XP is re-installed you just copy the saved folder back.

as for messages.. one way is to highlight the message to save from inbox and click Save As this saves the emails as .eml files so you can copy those to your backup CD/Location.

also if you need to save your Email Address book .. open OE and click Addresses to open the address book up and click File > Export > Address Book WAB > pick a name for the file and click save.
