Im having Call of Duty 4 problems

So im having Problems whit my Call of Duty 4 MP.
when i try to start the Multiplayer it ask if i want to start it in safe
mode but when i do that it i only show splash screen for short sec and then goes back to computer desktop.

Any help will be appriciated.



Computer spec.

AMD athlon(TM) 64 x2 Dual core 4800+ (2.5GHz)
2 Gig Ram DDR
Asus M2N-MX SE PLUS
Geforce 8600 GT

This might sound stupid but have you tried and not started the game in safe mode?

If yes, have you patched it (1.7) and updated video/sound drivers?

 

Im having almost similiar problems. When I am in the gaming menu an d click the *Join Game* the game shuts down and there comes just this text: iw3mp.exe stopped working.

I have good enough computer. Help me!!

 

@ Eriksson Call of Duty 4 is pretty picky about sound and audio settings. I went through similar problems with my copy of world at war. On your game booklet there is a 1800 number. Call it and follow the instructions- it will take about 10 min.
