I'm really really bored (and its Friday night!)

i remember the good ole days. when Friday night meant something. its what you worked all week for. the thrill of getting ready. deciding which killer outfit you were going to bestow on mankind. a few glasses of wine before the off. getting to the gigs with a dozen head bangers in the car. music blaring. drinks flowing. pass it to the left hand side. the excitement of the set up. testing one..one...one...two..two..one..(becoz no-one can play guitar and count to three) dancing till the sweat ran down in a trickle to your belly. gyrating wildly. burning fat cells and brain cells at roughly the same rate. the sheer abandonment of life's worries and restrictions. the pleasure of knowing that your hangover can be enjoyed without the call of the clock. those sly looks across the floor to see who might be glancing in your direction. the disappointment as the last set plays and the ensuing discussions on where to go next. will i get in? does it matter if my name is on the list? a short skirt circumvents all lists. the nightclubs. so posh in a cheesy sorta way. so expensive. you glance and smile. can i buy you a drink? yeah, sure, why not. why not indeed. coming home at dawn. the light of London dimming to the light of the world.

 

What do you do now? Do you feel to old to do all the things you used to? I know that my nights seem boring compared to my teenage years and I'm only 24.

I was never 'young', in that sense of the word.

My nights' excitement nowadays is to sit in a corner with my computer, my pipe, and bag of Liquorice Allsorts.

 

i drank half a bott of wine, watched a movie rental, cant even remember what it was about so cant have been any good!. its not my age that prevents me from enjoying the night life. its the fact that there IS NO night life in Hawaii. the island shuts down at nine. what are laughingly called 'nightclubs' are really tourist bars, there is little or no live music. some guy on a ukulele really doesn't count. i only miss the city occasionally...friday nights being one of them. anyway GOOD MORNING people. its a beautiful day. today I'm gonna tackle more elephant grass.
