    Hi,
at home we have a computer and a router, the distance between them is verry large but between them are 4 copper wires. I've red it is possible to connect them with only 4 wires so i did but it does'nt seem to work.
Anny ideas are good, I've tryed everything and visited hundereds of sites but it still doesn't work. (I have a laptop that might help)

Try using pre-made CAT5 cable, if the distances aren't TOO great. (IIRC 100 ft or more and you'll start losing signal, and will require a repeater or fibre optic cable) It'll be WAY easier than what you're trying to do. Just make sure you don't try to connect your computer to the router with crossover cable, as it won't work.

Tanks for the advice but thats the problem the distance is too great (and yess i know (no crossover)) but now i've found sommething new: my (brothers) laptop can connect from overthere :) but the computer cant.
    Computer:Windows 98(I know)
    ~450 MHz CPU ~350Mb Ram
    Netwerkadapter DFE-530TX
    Router: BEFSR41
I supose the computer with networkadaptor isnt compatable with the router.
