I love to make back ups of my movies. Not Piracy

But, they take way to long to shrink. On average it takes somewhere, uhmm 15-23 minutes.

I have 4 gbs of ram (ddr2) and Intel core 2 e6400 and a 18x samsung dvd r/dl u name it, it has it.

    What makes my shrinking faster?

I was thinking, if I got the e6850 will I see an increase? Would you go out and buy a 20-22x dvd rom? 4-6 x might add a little more kick?

What would be good? I would like to rip a movie in 3 minutes, I hate waiting all day.

reformating movies, converting file types, combining movies into a single movies does take quite a long time, even on my 6000+. The program has to go through the movie frame by frame, which, as you can imagine, takes awhile.

oh, and yes a faster processor would speed things up, but i doubt you'd get it down to 3 min

if I bought a e6850 @ 3.0ghz, overclocked it to say 3.4 ghz, how fast do you think I can shrink a movie?
