Is there a way to image a drive once you have your settings in Ubuntu 8.10?

Acronis True Image will work for windows or linux.
Use the program wizard to create floppies or CD. Then boot from this (outside of windows). This loads the program into RAM and you can backup, verify and restore with this recovery wizard set of floppies or CD you made.

I think I see what you mean. I've read some of the descriptions on Acronis's site. I can use Acronis TrueImage to back up a Linux drive by using a Windows partition to run the program. So I might be able to image a Windows partition and a Linux partition in this way?

I myself have always used norton's ghost 14, Never failed me once.

I image mine once all my settings are set and ready to go.
