Image Hosting websites

OK, I have a load of digital photot's from a family party, and I need a site to host them on so that everyone can view them.

What I'm looking for is:-

Room for about 400 photos (call it 800 MB to be on the safe side).

Full size photos (i.e. no max size)

some kind of mass uploader.

Reasonably fast upload speeds.

A means of linking easily to the photo's, so I can just email a URL to people and they can view them.


Now for most of my image hosting I use Photobucket, but it's not really ideal for this sort of volume of photo's. Someone also recommended Picassa (?sp) as an alternative, I've not had any experience of this.

So, my question is, does anyone know a good image hosting site that might fulfil most or all of the above requirements?

The other option is to find somewhere where I can set up a free website. I have no problem coding the HTML or anything like that, but I'm not aware of anywhere that provides that sort of storage capacity for free.

I hand it over to the floor for their sage opinion and personal experiences.

I presume you use a free Photobucket account. Have you looked their premium account? Have a look here: http://s7.photobucket.com/upgrade/. Looks that would serve your needs quite well.

Until now, I only knew of Picasa as photo editing software to use on your computer. But, apparently, Google offers an online photo album that works with the Picasa software. Here's some info: http://picasa.google.com/intl/en_US/web/learn_more_picasa.html

 

Thanks USAF, I've got myself a Picasa log in and the pics are now uploading.

Yes, I use the free photobucket, as this is a family thing for which I won't get any money back, and being a poor student, I can't afford to go for the premium services.

I'll let you know all about Picasa when I've had a bit of a play.
