I set up a little program for a friend called smiley brush where you can add animated emoticons in emails- it works fine for me using xp pro and hotmail but she can see them in her mail (she is using windows 98) but the reciever gets the "red X" where the image should be-she also recieves the images okay and all other images work- anybody have any ideas-it would put me in her good graces! Thank you!

Attached is a screenshot of the shortcut to the program if that helps

Could the receiver have Outlook Express security settings to prevent the display of attachments?

Is Outlook Express configured to use particular Internet Explorer settings?

Does the receiver have ad blocking, firewall, virus scanner or whatever to scan e-mails before receiving or opening?

Can you tell us a bit more about the setup?

outlook isn't used nor is a firewall-as she wants me to help over the phone i was wondering if an ie setting would prevent an outgoing gif?
as an aside, the young lady equates security with the baseball bat she has next to the computer! so it has to be something like hotmail not set for html, but you can't change that setting.
