   I just had a major virus problem with my laptop & I wasnt able to backup my files & pictures I am using windows vista is there any way to recover the images from the hard drive? I dont know how I did it but the computer has had everything reset on it & its showing that its has all its used space back to free space & everything has been wiped clean!!!

   You could try the following applications, but do have a large USB pen/CDRW/DVDRW or an external HDD to use as the save path as if you save any files that can be recovered then will start using the space flagged as free and may overwrite any subsiquent files that could possibly be able to be recovered.
   
   Recuva
   Free File Recovery
   PC Inspector File recovery
