I am confused. I want to take an image of my C: drive (OS drive) using either Drive Image 2002 v6 or Acronis True Image v8.0 771, both of which I have. Currently I have Win XP installed on an NFTS formatted drive, (the C Drive). My question is can these programs image Win XP FROM an NFTS drive TO another HDD which is also NTFS formatted. This might seem a stupid question but looking online I have found much conflicting advice.

    What's the story?

The image doesn't care whether the target HDD is NTFS or not, as it overwrites whatever is on the HDD anyway. The important thing to remember is the image will only work on the computer it was created on, or one with the exact same hardware. Loading it in anything else will either fail completely, or give you a seriously screwed up operating system.
