improve/increase upstream speed

Is there a way to improve the quality of what I am watching via internet TV broadcast with Media Player 11 (Windows XP/SP2).
I am watching something right now and the upstream is 166kbps but the site sends it at 300 minimum. My High Speed Connection tested at 1.57 Mbps.
Is there anything I can do in Windows Media Player to improve this?

 

The 1.57mbps probably refers to download speed. Your best bet would be to go to the link I've posted below and run a series of tests using several target server cities (it will make sense when you go to the link) and write down or screenshot the results of the tests, both up and down speeds. If you are going through a router, check the documentation or the maker's web site for information on 'tweaking' some extra speed out of it. After you run the tests, compare the results with what your advertised speeds are supposed to be for your internet service package. If the figures aren't close, call your ISP and ask 'em what's up. thats strange....norm upstream speed is 400-600kb :confused
guess its better then aussie dial up :cry
